A spray of Narciso Rodriguez for Him opens up with a floral note that smells like violets on steroids and then proceeds to morph into something akin to wet cement, damp clay, cucumber and sweet vanilla musk. The texture is thick, but overall the feeling is fresh and aquatic without smelling like an ocean. Sounds weird huh? Well it is - but surprisingly, it smells just as good as it is weird. Narciso Rodriguez is one of the few scents out there that manage to have a “je ne sais quoi” vibe. On top of smelling unique, it still smells conventional enough to pull off. While Narciso Rodriguez for Him might be a strong fragrance that demands you pay attention to the wearer, it's also soft and smooth like a cashmere sweater - granted you don't douse yourself in it like an idiot.
Masculine, weird, yet still wearable, Narciso Rodriguez for Him is an incredibly creative work of olfactory art. While I might not actually want to wear it, it's one of the few fragrances that make me smile when I catch a rare whiff of it on someone walking by.
